Q – Do all websites have to be hosted on Activ's server?
A – Yes all websites need to be hosted on our server as the software that operates the product is configured precisely with our server. Also our dedicated server ensures your website is 100% uptime guaranteed.
Q – If a customer already has a domain name, can it be transferred over to Activ?
A – Yes very easily, a lot of websites on the internet are out of date and need updating, we are aware that your potential clients might all ready have a domain name, related to their business, so our easy to use system allows this to happen.
Q – Activ's Head Office is in England, how are you going to support me as I am the other side of the World?
A – You are provided with an easy to use manual that explains exactly how to use the product and design websites. Q – Does Activ own the product / software fully?
A – Yes, 100%, the product has been developed from scratch from our team of in-house developers. Q – Do I need to have the software loaded on to my computer?
A – No, the software is hosted on line which means that you can access it and work anywhere in the world that has internet access.
Q – Is this product template driven?
A – There are a series of templates to select from to organise the basic structural bones of each website, you then have complete control over all colours and images within that template. To summarise there is a basic template structure that can be dynamically changed to make every site look totally different – no two websites will ever look the same.
Q – Do all the websites I design need to be in English?
A – No not at all, you are provided a website for your business, which can be fully edited, into what ever language you choose. Any website you build can also be written in any language you choose.
Q – What am I getting for my fee?
A – You will receive an Activ website, to market yourself as a web developer and an exclusive license to use the Activ product to design websites for clients in your area. We can only offer one license per area, protecting the future of your business and client base.
Q – Do you charge me, per website I build?
A – You are charged a small fee per website each year. This fee covers hosting and technical support of the website for the year. Please remember this fee is passed onto your client, and only needs to be paid once your client has paid you – therefore you should never be out of pocket. The price for this is specific to the Country you operate in and is relative to the prices that can be charged for websites in your local area.
Q – Do I need to provide my own images for use on websites?
A – You will have access to an image library of 30,000 images which we are adding to on a daily basis, however you are free to use your own images too.
Q – How do I launch a website, and make it live on the internet?
A – Our easy to use system does all this for you, once you have designed your website, you need to inform Activ by completing an automated form, we will then do the rest, and send you an email when it has been launched and ready to go live on the internet.
Q – Do I need to keep going back to my client every time I make a change to make sure they are happy?
A – No not at all, every site you design will be on a demo web address until it is launched onto a www address. This means that you can telephone a customer and give them the demo address that you are designing their site on. Your customer then puts this address into their search box on the internet and they can instantly see their website online, meaning you get instant feedback and are not wasting time personally visiting your customers every time you change/add to the website.
Q – Who registers the Domain Names?
A – You are responsible for registering the domain names of all your clients. Once you have registered the domain name, you then need to inform us, and we will then do the rest and make your website live on the internet.
Q – How long is the license for?
A – The license is for 10 years. A member of our team will be able to go through this with you and explain what happens at the end of the 10 years and the options regarding renewal.
Q – Can I change all the currencies specific to my country?
A – Yes, you have full control over the content of the website, meaning you can change the currency to your specific country, very easily and in no time at all.
Q – Do I need to leave the Activ logo on my own website and all websites I develop?
A – Yes, as you are operating the Activ product, it is important the logo and corporate message is delivered to all your potential customers. Remember Activ stands for, 'Become Activ online' we want to keep things as simple as possible for all our clients to understand.
Q – Do I need to have an 'Activ' Domain name for my website, i.e. www.ctivwebdesignlimerick.com?
A – No not at all, as the Activ logo and colurs will be on each web developers website, this isn't important, allowing you to choose a domain name specific for your business.
